AFM NEWS February 9th Continued

Multinational melodic metallers Eden's Curse return in March with their latest and third studio release entitled “Trinity” and it’s all stations go on the news front. Released here on the 21st of March, this record is set to be the release that defines the band in 2011 and it has some really exciting ingredients…

Firstly, the songs are wonderful; a collection of the heaviest and yet most diverse the band has created, but that’s not all. Leading the infamous ‘Curse Choir’ this time around is none other than Dream Theater vocalist Theater vocalist James LaBrie who lends his backing vocals to the entire album and also duets with front man Michael Eden on the epic “No Holy Man”, which is set to be released by AFM as a digital single on the 25th of February, for which a promotional video is currently in production…. And that’s not all. No, Andi Derris of Helloween also joined the boys on “Black Widow” and both Eden and bassist Paul Logue have been magnanimous about both guest musicians…….

"James recorded the Trinity sessions at Iguana Studios in Ontario straight after he finished his solo release Static Impulse, and was highly professional, as you'd expect; extremely approachable and very enthusiastic about our music. We sealed the deal very quickly and we got him in top form; we feel the end results are breathtaking".

Front man Eden adds "I spoke with James backstage on the Iron Maiden tour last summer and he has a way of making you see things in a different light. It was an honour having him along for the ride and we hope that it is not the last time we work together.”

And Andi Deris was equally popular… “Andi kicked it so hard at the party that I nearly lost my voice keeping up with him. Rejoice”.

Trinity was produced by the bands long time producer Dennis Ward (Krokus, Pink Cream 69, Angra) and will also be released in Japan via Spiritual Beast and in the USA by Metal Mayhem.

Michael Eden has also revealed though a few special moments that will feature on “Trinity”… Firstly, the Dio cover “Rock 'N Roll Children”…. “Oh, I loved Ronnie beyond words and have decided (with the members of Eden's Curse) to do real justice to one of Ronnie's metal gems in tribute to his loving memory…. Ronnie was the singer's singer. Heart, soul and an aggressive energy that no singer could touch”.

And, as previously hinted by the band last year, there’s also another key cover version to find on the limited editions of the record…. the Dokken classic “Unchain The Night” (one of the band’s biggest influences) which is set to be included on the Japanese release. Bassist and chief song smith Paul Logue explains.. “Unashamedly I’m a huge Dokken fan; along with Queensryche and Pink Cream 69, they were the key band whom we built the basis of the Eden’s Curse sound around. We miss bands that created that kind of music. It is a song we jammed at rehearsals or sound checks and we always knew we should record this – I’m so glad we eventually did!”

“Don and George need to kiss and make up! The hard rock world is a brighter place with Dokken around”.

One minute samples of both the Dio and Dokken renditions as well as “Black Widow” are all now streaming at the bands official MySpace ( and Facebook site (
