With the current interest in Accept and a new record for September it’s possibly a cautionary moment to talk about Udo Dirkschneider, but there’s no doubt that the career of this most vital of musicians has now totally eclipsed his former band and is more vital than anything that band can now throw up. Formed in 1984 on his departure from Accept, U.D.O. has become the second strongest face of AFM and with a world-wide following that sees the man consistently able to tour both Europe, the US and Japan, his career continues to go from strength to strength with ever better albums on the cards. The last two in particular, 2007’s “Mastercutor” and 2009’s “Dominator” would see chart placings the man could only have dreamed of in his early career and with a back catalogue that is awesome in its consistency and talents, the man has established himself as one of Europe’s most loved Metal musicians. A new album is allegedly already in production for 2011 and the great man can be found on festival bills throughout Western and Eastern Europe this Summer.
